OK, so I’m a nut—a
little more than goofy and just
shy of crazy. My mantra is “Pretending
to be a normal person day-after-day
is exhausting” I have 5 kids,
10 grandkids, and group of wacky
friends that inspire me, motivate
me and send me into fits of irrepressible
laughter.
In my younger days—which
seems like another life altogether,
I was a model and hairstylist. I
did hair for the movie industry
and believe it or not, I was Donny
Osmond’s personal stylist
for a couple of years (Name Dropper!).
I was born in 1957, which puts me
right there with all the rest of
the baby-boomers who survived the
60s and 70s without their brains
falling out from listening to the
Beatles and trying to figure out
exactly why Andy Warhol was painting
Campbell’s soup cans. (We
all pretended to know . . . )
But the older I get, the less
I pretend to be normal, and the
more I let the real Suzy out. Now
I eat chocolate truffles by the
handful, drink sparkling water by
the gallon, and create funny-but-true
art and stories. I get a kick out
of the whole rollercoaster, upside-down
life I’m leading and I wouldn’t
have it any other way.
The Suzy Says Collection, which includes "Never underestimate the power of a hissie fit", "Always color outside the lines" and "Age is NOTHING but a state of mind", is all
the stuff floating around in my
head that doesn’t fit anywhere
else.
