OK, I give up! I finally caved into the pressure from hundreds of women and wrote a book called "The Sacred Sisterhood of Wonderful Wacky Women". When I developed my first few wacky characters, I never dreamed it would blossom into the success it is today. I believe the appeal of my work comes from the fact that the images and stories are all based on real women. I have been blessed by an abundance of ordinary women who have accomplished extraordinary things. It's about these unrecognized feats of quiet, female heroism that I write. It’s the best subject matter on the planet. I had a ton of fun pulling this together. I truly hope you enjoy it.
The book is hard-bound with 104 full-color pages. It is wrapped with a brilliant, eye-catching presentation dust jacket. There are 12 chapters including 15 images and matching stories. They are followed by a few pages of the true story of the woman behind each image. Then just to spice things up, there is a recipe at the end of each chapter.
Introduction to She Who Has a Great Attitude
Ding-a-ling-a-ling…hello? Chit-chat-chit-chat . . . Yadda, yadda, yadda . . . Laugh, laugh, giggle, snort, “Oh, by way, did I tell you I have breast cancer?”
That’s how I found out my friend, Carrie, had been diagnosed with stage-two breast cancer.
Carrie and I met over a decade ago. I signed up for one of her adult watercolor classes through the adult-education program at our local college. I was in one of those “I-gotta-do -something-fun-or-this-dreary-north-Idaho-winter-weather-is-gonna-drive-me-stark-raving-mad” moods. I did not choose this class because I needed to explore the medium of watercolor, but rather because the program had the word “Adult” in the title. I was desperate to have a meaningful conversation with anyone who didn’t call me “Mom.”
I walked into the room, and there, standing at the head of the class, was a wild, wacky woman. Her looks, voice and mannerisms personified the description of a free-spirited artist living in the woods of north Idaho. Part mountain mama, part drama queen, Carrie was an extraordinary enigma that defied all description. Paint was flying, she was barking out instructions, and everyone one in the room was laughing hysterically. I smiled. I knew this was just what I needed . . .
Introduction to They Who are Best Friends
I love having girlfriends. I’ve been blessed by such an abundance of different women in my life, I can’t figure out if God loves me so much that he graced me with this honor, or He figures I’m so messed up I need all the help I can get. Most likely the latter . . . ’cause I have lots of girlfriends.
I have beach friends and shopping friends . . . yoga friends, diet friends, and art friends… phone friends, church friends and neighbor friends. There are friends I can call on the spur of the moment for a “wild, wacky women” vacation, and others that require months of planning. I have friends to learn from and friends to lean on . . . Friends to laugh with and friends to cry with.
Then—apart from all the rest—I have Candy . . .
Here are a couple of recent emails:
“It’s just so real . . . laughed and cried the whole way through. I love the way Suzy writes. I saw myself and my own group of wacky friends in every chapter.”
Pam Newberg, Saratoga, CA
“I bought The Sacred Sisterhood of Wonderful Wacky Women as a gift. Before giving it, I read it myself. I went right back to the store and bought five more copies.”

Holy moley, a second book! When you all bugged me to write the first one, I never dreamed you’d ask for a second. But after the response to the first book, it was easy to talk me into it. I have been blessed to be surrounded by amazing women who, at first glance, are as ordinary as you and me. Yet because of the challengingsituations in which they found themselves, did some pretty extraordinary things. In the process, they have changed the course of their lives by uplifting, inspiring and empowering those around them. They have forever earned themselves a place of honor among The Sacred Sisterhood of Wonderful Wacky Women. Their stories deserve to be told.
The book is hard-bound with 107 full-color pages. It is wrapped with a brilliant, eye-catching presentation dust jacket. There are 11 chapters including 16 images and matching stories. They are followed by a few pages of the true story of the woman behind each image. Then just to spice things up, there is a recipe at the

Introduction to She Who is a Military Wife
Like a lot of 13-year-olds, Jimmy, my best friend’s son, was a little snot. But he wasn’t the only one. For four consecutive years, I was the Sunday School teacher for a group of the most obnoxious, out-of-control teens anyone had ever seen. They had blasted through a series of teachers the year before I got them. By the time I walked into the classroom, they had honed their get-rid-of-the-new-teacher skills down to a science. And Jimmy led the pack.
But, despite it all, I really liked Jimmy. What is a surprise to some, but not to me, is that Jim has turned out to be one of the finest young men our country has. Jim is a Marine.
